Fultrot Jr. Dragster Award

In the spirit of the late Cleotis Chong, the Fultrot Jr. Dragster Award aims to encourage and promote the youngest drivers in the sport. They are the primary pipeline for the development of young talent, fostering team cohesion, and securing the sport’s future by offering a safe and controlled environment for kids aged 7 and up, to learn racing fundamentals. These joyfully painted half-scale cars, zipping through the 1/8 mile at 65 mph, teach essential mechanical skills and reaction times.

And it is with the latter in mind that this award was created. The local* Jr. Dragster driver with the best reaction time on a winning run in the first round of eliminations in a race supported by the Fultrot Drag Race Awards, will win a special trophy and $100 at the end of the racing season.

Careful attention was paid when designing this important trophy and no expense was spared. An original all-aluminium butterfly steering wheel was sourced from PRP. The top of the wooden base depicts the rubbery and sticky surface of a race ready drag strip. The only items missing are the award name, date, sponsor, etc, and name of the award winner.
